Job Description
The position involves supporting the ARC Linkage Project: Culture for Climate: Harnessing Eco-Creativity to Transition Australia’s Performing Arts to Environmental Sustainability (LP230200526).
As a Research Fellow, you will join the Performance + Ecology Research Team (P+ERL) at the Creative Arts Research institute (CARI) to explore eco-creative sustainability strategies to accelerate meaningful climate action in and through the arts. The project will develop innovative sustainability practices and policies that unlock and empower new ways of thinking and creating in a climate-changed world. The Research Fellow will work under the supervision of the Lead Investigator, Dr Tanja Beer, to support the project’s research activities, including the development of eco-literacy workshops and practice-based case studies.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Documentation and data collection, including field work
- Supporting data analysis and evaluation
- Assisting with research outputs
- Procedural matters and administrative tasks, including project management and partner liaison
- Contribute research skills to the goals of the project
- Manage the preparation and formulation of publications, presentations and research reports arising from the research project.
This is a fixed term (3 years), part-time position (0.6FTE / 3 days per week) and will be primarily based at the Griffith University South Bank campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The full-time equivalent base salary will be Research Fellow, Grade 1 in the range $86,526- $101,354 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $101,236 - $118,585 per annum.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a postgraduate qualification (preferably a PhD) in a relevant creative arts field and/or have significant creative arts experience, with research expertise or interest in Environmental Sustainability and/or Cultural Policy.
You will also have:
- Experience in qualitative research methods and evaluation (mixed methods desirable)
- Evidence of strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in project and/or stakeholder management and administration
- Evidence of strong academic writing skills (publication record desirable)
- A current driver’s license and be available to travel interstate for field work
